Its getting closer – and we are all anticipating the Fire Records release of the Rainer album INNER FLAME this October 2011 with new friends and old on board recording Rainers songs. Artists covering Rainer songs include Robert Plant, PJ Harvey, Lucinda Williams, Grandaddy, Vic Chestnutt, Victoria Williams, Chris Whitley, Madeline Peyroux, Jonathon Richman and more. It’s a truly great album and with 13 years since it’s original release, and new tracks added, it’s time! Fire are also going to be re-issuing the entire back catalog of Rainers work over the next year.

Meanwhile, a previously unreleased collection of Rainer studio recordings – joined by John Convertino and Joey Burns have been posted for download by genius archivist Jim Blackwood. Just getting your sonic ears warmed up for a very special project that is close to all our hearts. Check it out!
